AANHPI Voices: Preserving Local AANHPI History

Driving down Baseline Road, it's hard to believe that South Phoenix was once a thriving agricultural community in the middle of the last century, and colorful flower farms filled the landscape.

The Nakagawa family was one of seven Japanese-American families who operated the flower farms. Today, Kathy Nakagawa co-owns Baseline Flowers, along with her siblings, and continues to preserve the historical significance of the flower farms in Phoenix.

PAL invites you to join the conversation with Kathy, as she shares the history of the Baseline flower farms and its continued impact in the community.
